Welcome to my web site

My name is George Kraus and I restore vintage Norton and Triumph motorcycles in my small shop in Portland Oregon.  Most of my adult life I worked as a graphic designer and illustrator.  My hobby was building motorcycles.  In the early 90's I spent about a year subcontracting for Kenny Dreer of Vintage Rebuilds and Restorations, building many Norton's, Triumphs, and BSA's from my home shop.  He was
a good teacher and I was eager to learn.  I traded my services as a graphic designer and photographer by designing a brochure
for him in exchange for a core Norton Commando motorcycle and parts at cost.  Later, his company Norton America
acquired the Norton name, and designed and built various prototypes for a modern Norton similar to the new
Norton being built today in the UK (www.nortonmotorcycles.com).

Currently, I specialize in Norton and Triumph vertical twins. Services range from 100 point concours to custom specials. The process consists of a complete frame-off nut and bolt restoration, stripping all components to the bare basics.  All black frame pieces are powder-coated,
all aluminum components are professionally polished to a chrome like finish, and all fasteners are replated in either cadmium, zinc,
or show chrome.  All fenders, tanks, side covers, are professionally painted with quality automotive paints, and color sanded
and polished to perfection.  Any pinstriping or custom lettering/logo work is professionally hand-done by fellow artist Mitch
Kim Pinstriping.  Custom graphics are available if desired.  Every wear item is replaced as new.  When finished, your
motorcycle will look and run better than the day it left the factory.  Detailed care and craftsmanship go into each
and every component.

The photos and information on these pages, showcases some of the vehicles I have restored.  They have all undergone a complete
professional restoration in my shop.  Only a select number of vintage Norton and Triumph motorcycles are restored each
year.  Please browse my site for additional information, and contact me with any questions or
concerns.  Visit my on-line showroom to see examples of my work.

Some of what's involved in a complete, professional motorcycle restoration:

— For your safety and mine, I will not compromise on my mechanical service and safety standards. —

PLEASE NOTE: I am not a walk-in business, I do not have a store front, and I do not sell parts. I only restore British Motorcycles. If you are serious about having your motorcycle restored I welcome your inquiry.
Thank you.
